It is reported that Orlando Bloom is the frontrunner to star in director Ridley Scott's next film, 'Kingdom of Heaven'.
Variety reports that the Crusades-era epic begins shooting in Morocco next January.
The film tells the story of a young blacksmith in the 12th Century who becomes a knight and helps defend Jerusalem from the Crusaders.
Bloom can currently be seen on Irish screens in 'Ned Kelly' with Scott's new movie, 'Matchstick Men', also opening last week.
The pair previously worked together on 'Black Hawk Down'.
