Paul McCartney has begun work on his new studio album, the follow-up to 2001's 'Driving Rain'.
Billboard reports that in a cyberchat with fans, McCartney said he was not in any hurry to get the record finished as he and wife Heather Mills were expecting their first child together.
McCartney expects to finish the album next year and is backed on the songs by his touring band of guitarists Rusty Anderson and Brian Ray, keyboardist Paul Wickens and drummer Abe Laboriel Jr.
He also revealed that a book chronicling his recent world tour is in the planning stages.
