It is reported that 'Mulholland Drive' star Naomi Watts has been offered the lead role in the Peter Jackson remake of 'King Kong'.
Variety says that the 'Lord of the Rings' director will shoot the movie in New Zealand with a Christmas 2005 released planned.
If Watts signs up for the film, she will play Ann Darrow, an American actress performing in shows during The Depression.
Watts can currently be seen on Irish screens in the latest Merchant Ivory production, 'Le Divorce'.
