From today, Monday 1 September, the Irish Film Centre and Film Institute of Ireland will be grouped together under the title the Irish Film Institute (IFI).
The IFC and FII decided to revert to the historical title of Irish Film Institute – under which they were founded - in order to clarify their role and goals.
Apart from its cinemas programme, the IFI also houses a film archive and library and stages educational events and festivals.
