Nutrition experts in the UK have said that Beyoncé Knowles is setting a bad example for young girls by discussing how little she eats to stay thin.
In an interview with music magazine Bang, Knowles revealed her lunch consisted of six slices of tomato and four slices of cucumber.
She said that she had to follow this regime because photographs and television added weight to people's bodies and that discipline was very important in her profession.
The 21-year-old has hired a nutritionist to accompany her on tour and prepare low fat, low carbohydrate meals.
Dr Wendy Doyle of the British Dietetic Association warned that young children could be influenced by the singer and said people in the public eye needed to be more responsible.
