Metallica and Beyoncé Knowles are the latest acts added to the bill for the MTV Awards in New York next week.
They join the likes of 50 Cent, Coldplay and Christina Aguilera in performing at the event in Radio City Music Hall on 28 August.
Among the guest presenters on the show are Britney Spears, Avril Lavigne, Iggy Pop and tennis star Serena Williams.
Beyoncé is nominated in five categories including Best Video and Best R & B Video for 'Crazy in Love' while Metallica make the Best Rock Video shortlist for 'St Anger'.
