It is reported that Johnny Depp has been offered the role of Willy Wonka in a remake of children's classic 'Charlie and The Chocolate Factory'.
Trade paper Variety says that if Depp agrees to star, shooting on the Tim Burton-directed movie will begin next year.
Further talks are expected to take place shortly.
Burton and Depp previously worked together on 'Edward Scissorhands', 'Ed Wood' and 'Sleepy Hollow'.
Depp can currently be seen on Irish screens in the box office hit 'Pirates of the Caribbean'.
