Cerys names baby Glenys Pearl y-Felin

Singer Cerys Matthews has named her first child Glenys Pearl y-Felin.

A spokesman for her record company said the name Glenys is a traditional Welsh name originating from the Welsh word glan, meaning pure or holy.

The Pearl part of the name is from the Matthews' family history, and they-Felin is from the Welsh word meaning mill, and from their family roots.

It is understood the Welsh singer's parents live in the Pembrokeshire village of Trefin which has an old watermill.

Glenys Pearl y-Felin was born on Sunday August 10 weighing 6lbs 10oz.

In February, former Catatonia frontwoman Matthews, 34, married American music producer Seth Riddle.
