US singer-songwriter Jewel is to star in a new indie movie called 'Wave'. The Hollywood Reporter says that the film tells the story of a mother who tries to heal the relationship with her adult son after spending years in jail for committing a crime of passion when he was a child.The singer will play the son's girlfriend and is also producing the film.
Jewel made her acting debut in the Ang Lee film 'Ride With the Devil'.
