Actor Noah Wyle will not feature as prominently in the next series of hospital drama 'ER'.
US website TV Guide reports that Wyle will appear in the first two episodes of the new series to be shown in the US this autumn but will then not return to the show until December.
His publicist told TV Guide that the 32-year-old wanted to spend more time with his wife and nine-month-old son.
Wyle has starred in 'ER' for ten years.
