Beyoncé Knowles will be seen on US screens next month in a new film called 'The Fighting Temptations'.
Rolling Stone reports that the film also stars Cuba Gooding Jr and tells the story of a nightclub singer called Lilly (Knowles) who turns her attention to gospel.
Speaking to the magazine about her role, Knowles said that she wanted people to see her in a different light.
She will also record the song 'Fighting Temptation' for the soundtrack, with guest appearances from Missy Elliott and MC Lyte.
The film goes on release in the US on 19 September.
