'Pirates of the Caribbean' director Gore Verbinski and Nicolas Cage are in talks to direct and star in 'The Weather Man'.
The Hollywood Reporter says the film is in the vein of 'About Schmidt' and 'American Beauty' and tells the story of a divorced Chicago weather presenter who must make peace with his family before trying out for a major job in New York.
Production on the film is set to begin in February.
Verbinski's 'Pirates of the Caribbean' opens on Irish screens on 8 August.
