Jennifer Lopez has filed a petition against former manager Benny Medina, claiming that he did not have a valid talent agent's license while he managed her career.
The actress/singer fired Medina last month after five years of service.
Her lawyer said: "Jennifer feels wronged and misrepresented and misled."
The petition, filed with California's labour commission, seeks to invalidate all remaining partnerships between Medina and Lopez.
Lopez also wants Medina to repay everything he earned while working for her, plus 10 percent interest.
