Cork's Crawford for Nigel Rolfe piece

The Crawford Municipal Art Gallery in Cork is to host a new work by artist Nigel Rolfe from 9 July.

'From Darkness to Annihilation' is a large-scale multi-media installation with video and sound, featuring a text by Martin Luther King.

This work is a development and extension of works made since 1996 in Nigel Rolfe's video retrospective at the Museum of Modern Art in Paris.

Rolfe featured in the recent 'Something Else' exhibition of Irish art touring Finland.

This year he is taking part in a publicly sited projection in the 'tunnel des facultes' in Algeria and in 2004 he will participate in the Irish Artists for Amnesty International exhibition in IMMA.

'From Darkness to Annihilation' will run from 9 July to 23 August.
