Early reviews of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix said JK Rowling had recreated the magic formula which has seen the earlier books become international bestsellers.
'Despite the millions of words of hype, the expectations of millions and the millions in the bank, Rowling has succeeded in crafting a book that will disappoint no true Potter fan,' said an online review for the BBC.
The latest plot, which involves the death of a character, sees the schoolboy wizard facing possible expulsion from Hogwarts over the way he confronts two magical adversaries sent to attack him.
Harry is then thrust into the protective circle of the Order of Phoenix, a hastily assembled force of benevolent witches and wizards, which vows to defeat the teen magician's mortal enemy Lord Voldemort.
