Queen Latifah is to star in a remake of the French chase movie 'Taxi'.
The Hollywood Reporter says that 'Taxi' tells the story of a cab driver (Latifah) who teams up with a detective to solve a spate of bank robberies.
Luc Besson, who produced the original 'Taxi' and its two sequels, will also produce the US remake.
Tim Story, who recently directed the hit comedy 'Barbershop', is in talks to direct.
Latifah will also appear in the sequel to that movie, which will be directed by Kevin Rodney Sullivan.
Shooting on 'Taxi' is set to begin in September.
