Former East 17 singer Brian Harvey has been cleared of drugs charges after the key prosecution witness refused to give evidence at his trial.
The 27-year-old was arrested and charged with supplying and possessing cocaine after a News of the World investigation.
The court was told the witness, who had been paid £15,000 by the paper - had left the country.
The News of the World claimed Harvey had hired the witness as part of a 'set up' to help him win a divorce battle with his former wife.
The judge formally entered not guilty verdicts on the supply and possession charges.
He told Harvey 'you leave this court without a stain on your character'
Outside court, Harvey said 'I have maintained my innocence for the last 12-months and still do today. In the next few days I shall be telling the entire story of this case and what lies behind it'.
