Scorsese gets rare Dylan interview

Bob Dylan will grant a rare interview to director Martin Scorsese as part of a documentary about his life.

The director of films such as 'Goodfellas' and 'Raging Bull' will be given Dylan's first film interview for almost 20 years.

The documentary will focus on the political and cultural impact of Dylan's early career, which he has never spoken extensively about.

The folk singer rose to fame in the 1960s with hits such as 'The Times They Are A-Changin', and the programme will follow his career until 1966.

"This project gives me a chance to explore one of the most exciting artists and icons of the past 50 years," Scorsese told trade paper Variety.

Scorsese has long been a fan of Dylan, who was featured in his 1978 rock documentary 'The Last Waltz'.
