Singer Luther Vandross, who suffered a stroke 14 days ago, has undergone a tracheotomy to fight off pneumonia.
It is reported that the operation was performed in such a way so as not to affect Vandross' vocal chords.
Vandross' business manager Carmen Romano said that family and friends were waiting for the 52-year-old to regain full consciousness but that this could take some time.
