Colin Farrell is to play the title role in the Oliver Stone film 'Alexander the Great'.
Alexander the Great was the bisexual 20-year-old King of Macedonia in 4th century BC.
Stone has written the script, which Farrell describes as "an amazing, amazing story."
"Everything is in it. There's greed, there's jealousy, there's love, there's pain, there's hope, there's desperation, there's pride, there's friendship, there's betrayal."
'Alexander the Great' is due to start shooting in June.
Farrell is currently starring in Joel Schumacher's 'Phonebooth'.
