Irish film-maker David McLoughlin is one of 21 young European producers selected to take part in the 'Producers On The Move' showcase at this year's Cannes Festival.
McLoughlin formed Distinguished Features with Clare Scully in 2000.
The company's latest project, 'Dead Bodies', was the sell-out closing film at the Dublin International Film Festival in March and is set for general film release in Ireland on 25 April.
Distinguished Features also co-produced the film adaptation of Spike Milligan's 'Puckoon', and 'Zulu 9' - a digital project financed by the Irish Film Board and RTÉ - was a prize winner at the Cork International Film Festival in 2001.
Other producers taking part in the Cannes showcase include Germany’s Jakob Claussen ('Distant Lights', 'Anatomie'), the Czech Republic’s Pavel Strnad ('Year Of The Devil') and Antonio Saura ('Semana Santa').
In order to qualify for selection, the producers must have produced at least one film which was a box office hit in their native country, was sold abroad or invited to a major international festival.
