JK Rowling has won a court battle to prevent the release of a Russian children's book she said copied her first Harry Potter book.
A court in Amsterdam agreed to block the international publication of 'The Magic Double Bass' by Dmitry Yemets, which tells the tale of a girl wizard called Tanya Grotter.
Yemets contended that his book was a parody of Rowling's bestseller, but the court found that it was an infringement of Rowling's copyright in relation to 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone'.
The author was joined in her action against Dutch publishers Byblos by Time Warner, the company behind the Harry Potter films.
The Tanya Grotter book is already a hit in Russia, where it has sold more than 500,000 copies.
