The Oscars ceremony could be put on hold if US troops go to war.
Academy president Frank Pierson has voiced the possibility of delaying the Sunday night ceremony depending on the Iraq crisis.
It has been postponed just three times in history - during the 1938 floods, Martin Luther King Junior's 1968 assassination, and the 1981 bid to kill President Reagan.
Steve Martin is due to host the 75th Oscars ceremony, planned for 23 March.
