Gandolfini to drop Sopranos action

Actor James Gandolfini is believed to be planning to dismiss his lawsuit over HBO's hit TV show 'The Sopranos'.

The suit sought to release Gandolfini from his contract with HBO in order to allow for a bigger pay deal.

According to reports, crisis talks between the network and the actor, mediated by 'Sopranos' producer Brad Grey, have broken the deadlock.

HBO is also due to withdrawn its counter-action. However, it is not known whether the network will agree to pay Gandofini more money - he currently earns $400,000 per episode.
