All 80,000 tickets for the Slane concert on 23 August sold out in two and a half hours when they went on sale this morning.
Tickets for the gig, headlined by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, went on sale at 8am. They were restricted to 6 per person.
The ten-hour music marathon will also feature Foo Fighters, Queens Of The Stone Age, PJ Harvey and Feeder.
A spokesman for concert promoters MCD said Slane 2003 was their fastest selling concert with the exception of U2's Slane gig in 2001.
The U2 concert sold out in 45 minutes - when a second date was announced it sold out in 94 minutes.
