Long-running US TV sit-com 'Friends' is to feature its first ever black character this season.
Actress Aisha Tyler will play a fossil expert who becomes part of a love triangle between Ross and Joey.
Starting out as a stand up comic, Tyler has worked as a presenter on the E! entertainment channel and US dating show 'The Fifth Wheel'.
She played Eddie Murphy's love interest in recent cinema release 'Showtime' and will also be seen in DMX's upcoming film 'Never Die Alone'.
Her 'Friends' character will hit screens in the US on 24 April.
