JJ72's Hilary Woods leaves band

Hilary Woods, bassist with young Irish rock trio JJ72, has left the band.

A statement on the official website reads: "JJ72 and bassist Hilary Woods have parted company. Hilary has decided to pursue other interests at this point in her life."

The band added: "JJ72 would like to take this opportunity to wish Hilary happiness and success in the future."

Woods, together with frontman Mark Greaney and drummer Feargal Matthews released their second album, 'I To Sky', in October.

Earlier this month the band released their latest single, 'Always and Forever'.

The band have been nominated in the Best Irish Group and Best Irish Album categories for this year's Meteor Ireland Music Awards which take place on Monday 3 March.

In a statement Woods said: "I wish Mark and Fergal continued success in the band and thank JJ72 fans for their support."
