DMX says 'Never' to a new thriller

Rapper DMX is to star and produce a new thriller called 'Never Die Alone'.Variety reports that DMX, real name Earl Simmons, plays a gangster whose life is told in flashbacks as a reporter investigates his death.

'Scream' star David Arquette is to play the reporter.

'Never Die Alone' is based on the 1974 book by pulp writer Donald Goines.

Goines wrote 16 books following his release from prison in 1970 but was shot dead four years later.

DMX's latest film 'Cradle 2 the Grave', in which he stars alongside martial arts legend Jet Li, opens in the US on 28 February.
