Hit BBC television comedy The Office has won a seal of approval from critics in the US after the first episode was shown on BBC America on Thursday.
The San Francisco Chronicle said the show was a "cross between Spinal Tap and Dilbert" and described it as "addictively funny".
Universal are believed to be preparing an American version of the show, but US critics have said they believe a US remake would not work as well as the original.
The award-winning mock fly-on-the-wall documentary series is written by and stars comedian Ricky Gervais.
In Ireland, 'The Office' can be seen on Network 2 television on Monday nights at 22:00.
