Star Wars Episode 3 due in 2005?

The new Star Wars film is set for release in 2005, to coincide with the 28th anniversary of the first film.

Yahoo movies says 'Star Wars: Episode 3' will hit screens in the US on 25 May 2005 but this date has not been confirmed by LucasFilm.

It is also not known if the film will be released on the same date in the UK and Ireland, although 'Star Wars: Episode 2 Attack Of The Clones' did receive a simultaneous release here and in the US.

Episode 3 will be George Lucas' final Star Wars movie, completing his series of six.

Filming in set to get underway in Australia in January.
