Jackson fails to appear in court

Singer Michael Jackson has not turned up at a California court, where he had been due to continue evidence in a suit over cancelled millennium concerts.

The pop star's lawyer said he was absent due to an "unspecified medical problem".

He appeared in court yesterday when he compared himself to Walt Disney, describing himself as a creative visionary who is not good with money.

Jackson was walking with the aid of crutches earlier in the week, when he said a spider had bitten his left foot.

The singer is being sued by a German music promoter for €22m.
