'Coronation Street' fans are said to be in for a bloodbath this Christmas as Richard Hillman tries a double murder.
In a special edition of the soap, Hillman batters Maxine Peacock to death and leaves Emily Bishop in a coma.
According to reports some of the scenes are shocking; Corrie bosses are considering holding them until after the 9pm watershed.
The storyline will build over the coming weeks as evil Richard decides to kill Emily to inherit her house.
He plans the murder carefully - and tries to cover his tracks by framing schoolboy Aiden Critchley.
The killing takes place when Emily, played by 72-year-old Eileen Derbyshire, is babysitting for Maxine's baby son Joshua.
Maxine's murder comes after weeks of speculation about how actress Tracy Shaw will be written out of the soap. She is leaving the Street in the New Year after her bosses refused to double her salary.
