Elvis impersonators given go ahead

Graceland has reversed its decision to end support of festivals featuring Elvis impersonators.

Elvis Presley Enterprises changed its initial decision, made in October, after receiving letters from festival organisers and fans.

EPE chief executive Jack Soden said that while most impersonators do "heartfelt" tributes to Elvis, "we've all seen pictures of people who just should not have gone outdoors in outfits like that."

He said the initial policy change had come about because some festivals had become more about the impersonators than the King himself.
