Gavin Fox, bass player with Irish band Turn, is to leave the group at the end of their current Irish tour to join Scottish rockers Idlewild.

The 23-year-old, a close friend of Idlewild's, will replace Bob Fairfoull who split from the band two months ago.

Idlewild are also adding live guitarist Allan Stewart to their full-time ranks and the new line-up are set to play three Irish shows at Derry's Nerve Centre on 30 January, Queens University, Belfast the following night and Dublin's Ambassador on 1 February.

In a statement, Turn said they would continue with a new bassist and that Fox's last show with the band would be at Dublin's Temple Bar Music Centre on New Year's Eve.

Turn's new album, 'Forward', will be released early next year and followed-up by a nationwide tour.
