Noah Wyle, who plays Dr Carter in the TV series ER, has become a father for the first time.
Wyle's wife, Tracy gave birth to a baby boy on Saturday at a Los Angeles hospital.
The couple have named the baby Owen Strausser Wyle. He shares the same middle name as his father.
A spokesman for the pair said, "the three are home, healthy and very, very happy".
