US court transcripts have revealed that Winona Ryder was stopped by security staff at stores before.
The US actress was stopped at stores in New York and Beverly Hills three times before her arrest last year.
Jurors at Ryder's recent shoplifting trial did not hear about the alleged earlier incidents.
She was found guilty of grand theft and vandalism at Saks Fifth Avenue and is due for sentencing in December.
Although the charges carry a maximum sentence of three years in prison, Ryder is expected to receive community service.
