Matthew Perry is to appear with his father, John Bennett Perry, in a new film called 'The Beginning of Wisdom'.
The 'Friends' star and his actor father will play Del and Harley Lemke, a father and son duo who must learn to cope with the sudden death of Harley’s wife.
Del hires a free-spirited young woman called Star to help his father on the family ranch. The role of Star has not yet been cast.
The $3m film is set during the 1970s. Peter Hunt is in final negotiations to direct.
Production will begin soon after Perry completes work on the ninth season of 'Friends', next April or May.
The Perrys worked together in 1997 on the film 'Fools Rush In'.
