Hollywood actress Winona Ryder will not now face drug charges, after they were dropped following a request from the prosecution at a Beverly Hills court.
Ryder will still face charges of grand theft, commercial burglary and vandalism in relation to a incident at Saks Fifth Avenue store in Los Angeles last December.
At a brief hearing yesterday, Judge Elden Fox agreed to drop the allegation that Ryder was in illegal possession of a painkiller when she was arrested for alleged shoplifting.
The 24-year-old actress is accused of stealing nearly $6,000 worth of goods from the store.
The trial has been adjourned until 24 October.
