Madonna's new film has been panned by US critics as it opens across America this weekend.
'Swept Away' has been described as "an awful B-movie" and "predictable and irritating" by online critics.
The Washington Post said the acting was laughable and described the film as "as awful as you've heard, and as bad as you've imagined".
Madonna plays a rich American woman who becomes stranded on a Greek island with an Italian fisherman in the film, which is directed by the singer's husband Guy Ritchie.
Some critics have said 'Swept Away' will be a bigger flop than singer Mariah Carey's 'Glitter'.
It is due for release in Ireland in March 2003.
