Mariah Carey has begun promoting a new single under her own label just four months after she was dropped by EMI/Virgin Records.
Carey's new single, 'Through the Rain' is set for release in November.
The singer, who suffered a mental and physical breakdown after the failure of her album 'Glitter', says she is back in control again and plans on putting herself first.
"No matter how tough you think you are - at a certain point, you just have to stop," she said.
Carey's own label is under the Island/Def Jam banner.
