US rapper Sean 'P Diddy' Combs is to host this year's MTV Europe Music awards.
Irish rockers U2 will face Linkin Park, Coldplay, No Doubt and the Red Hot Chili Peppers in the Best Group category.
Eminem, Pink, Shakira, Kylie Minogue, Enrique Iglesias and Coldplay have all received six nominations each.
The nominees for Best Song are Enrique Iglesias ('Hero'), Nelly ('Hot in Herre'), Nickelback ('How You Remind Me'), Pink ('Get The party Started') and Shakira ('Whenever, Wherever').
Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Pink, Kylie Minogue and Shakira are up for Best Female, while Eminem, Enrique, Lenny Kravitz, Nelly and Robbie Williams are nominated in the Best Male category.
The ceremony will take place in Barcelona on 14 November 2002 and will feature live performances from Coldplay, Enrique Iglesias and Robbie Williams.
