Mel Gibson is to direct Jim Caviezel in 'The Passion', a film which tells the story of the last 12 hours of Jesus' life, in Latin and Aramaic.
The film marks Gibson's first return to the director's chair since winning an Oscar for 1995's 'Braveheart'.
Speaking about 'The Passion', Gibson says he hopes to transcend the language barrier with the power of the visuals.
But he believes that US distributors are not enthusiastic about the film.
