Hopper lined up for Sinatra role

Dennis Hopper has been lined up to play legendary crooner Frank Sinatra in a new film called 'The Night We Called it a Day'.

Melanie Griffith will play Sinatra's girlfriend and David Hemmings his lawyer in the Paul Goldman directed movie.

The film will focus on a promoter, played by Joel Edgerton, who persuades Sinatra to tour Australia in 1974.

But things start to go wrong when Sinatra clashes with the press and unions.

Ally McBeal's Portia Di Rossi will also appear.
