A comedy starring Ice Cube has taken the number one place on the US box office chart in its opening weekend there.
'Barbershop', which stars the US rapper as the reluctant proprietor of his late father's business, took $21m over the weekend, leaving 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding', in second place.
Robin Williams' 'One Hour Photo' was in third place, followed by new release 'Stealing Harvard' (Tom Green and Jason Lee), a film about a man who turns to crime in order to put his niece through college.
Teen thriller 'Swimfan', starring Jesse Bradford and Erika Christensen fell to fifth place as Mel Gibson's 'Signs' fell to sixth in the US this weekend.
'Signs' was released in Ireland last Friday, 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding' opens here on 20 September, 'Swimfan' opens on 27 September and 'One Hour Photo' opens on 4 October.
