Actor Nick Nolte has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
The 61-year-old was taken into custody by California Highway Patrol Officers after an officer saw the actor's car swerving across a Malibu highway.
He was released after blood tests, the results of which will not be known for a number of days.
Nolte has been nominated for an Oscar twice: 1991's 'The Prince of Tides' and 1997's 'Affliction'.
