German prosecutors have launched a judicial inquiry into Leni Riefenstahl, Hitler's favourite film-maker, on suspicion of Holocaust denial.
A spokesman for the public prosecutor's office in Frankfurt said it followed a complaint by a German Romany association.
Riefenstahl's two major works - 1934's 'Triumph of the Will' and her record of the 1936 Olympics staged in Berlin, 'Olympia' - are perceived as glorifying Nazi ideals.
The director celebrates her 100th birthday today.
