Miss Saigon breaks Irish records

'Miss Saigon' at the Point Theatre in Dublin has broken Irish records with box office takings of more than €5.5m so far.

The award-winning musical is the biggest show ever staged in Ireland and is currently in the middle of a 12-week run.

Advance bookings for the Cameron Macintosh production have also made it Ireland's fastest-selling musical ever.

'Miss Saigon' has been seen by 28 million people in eight different languages in 73 cities worldwide.

Set during the last days before the fall of Vietnam in 1975, the show tells the story of the love between an American GI and a young Vietnamese girl. It continues at the Point Theatre until 28 September.
