Elvis' movies get DVD treatment

Three early movies featuring the late Elvis Presley have been released on DVD by 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment.

The three widescreen titles are 'Love Me Tender' from 1956, 'Flaming Star' from 1960 and 'Wild in the Country' from 1961.

The films have been digitally enhanced for their transfer to DVD, but the discs do not feature extra footage.

'Love Me Tender' was the King's first feature film and features Presley in a romantic triangle-tragedy set at the end of the US Civil War in 1865.

Presley's sixth film, 'Flaming Star', is set in Texas in 1878 and features the singer as the offspring of a mixed European-American/Indian marriage.

'Wild in the Country' stars Presley as a rebellious youth, who reaches a crossroads in his life.

Fans across the world will mark the 25th anniversary of Elvis Presley's death this Friday 16 August.
