'Beverly Hills 90210' star Jason Priestley has been described as "stable but serious" after fracturing his spine in a racetrack crash in Kentucky.
The actor suffered fractures to both feet, a fracture of the thoracic spine, head injuries and a broken nose when his car crashed head-on into a wall at the Kentucky Speedway racetrack yesterday.
Eye-witnesses said Priestley appeared to have driven through some "oil-dry", an absorbent material used soak up oil-leaks on the race track.
He was travelling at 180 miles per hour during a practice for a speedway race at the track.
The actor was taken by helicopter to hospital in Lexington in the US.
Best known for his eight year stint as heartthrob Brandon Walsh in teen TV series 'Beverley Hills 90210', Priestly has also starred in the films 'Love and Death on Long Island', 'Tombstone' and 'Eye of the Beholder'.
He made his West End debut in the year 2000 at London's Apollo Theatre in 'Side Man'.
