Rock legend Jimi Hendrix has been voted the greatest guitarist of all time in a new survey.
The poll, conducted by Total Guitar magazine, put the Seattle-born player ahead of the likes of Jimmy Page (2nd), Eric Clapton (3rd), Kurt Cobain (14th) and Oasis' Noel Gallagher (50th).
Hendrix died in 1970; he was 27-years-old.
Only one woman was among the 440 guitarists nominated by the magazine: Tracy Chapman.
